There's an active shooter currently near my school. 2 people at large. I'm not on campus and I'm glad I didnt go in early today. They're on lockdown with businesses and other schools around the area. I never thought this would happen up here but this whole country has a problem.
One person got shot and is being treated...hopefully they'll be okay and the police get the perpetrators before they cause more harm

Fucking insane, this kind of thing is getting out of control.

I also blame the media for some because when its broadcast over and over on the news all these copycats think they can get their day of fame.

This is just nuts. I agree with AbsintheandBlood, the media is partially to blame by it's repeated coverage of it, making it something of a norm. But there is so much more, we are listed as a danagerous country to visit because of the number shootings we have here! That's insane! Change needs to happen.

And yes, I hope the person getting treatment survives with no major injuries and the morons responsible are caputured quickly.

Yeah I think the shooters shouldn't be shown on tv. I think it does create copycats

Never realized how much work I put into being fluent in German until the essay I just wrote. We had to write a narrative about learning to write, so I chose my journey in learning German that started when I was a kid. I never thought I'd get this far with it but I still have more I'd like to learn.

So I had to draw up an hourly schedule day-by-day for a week because we're learning time management..and I'm laughing at mine. When I put certain things on there like "eat" or whatever, what I really mean is I'm doing 20 other things at the same time and that goes for the entirety of my minutes in every day.
But, to look good and not crazy I have to set "realistic" blocks of time where I'm only studying or commuting or whatever.
If I only did one or two things at a time, I'd never get anything done. Multitasking has been proven to impede progress but I've found a way to make it work for me. So I think I'll stick to that

Ughhh schedule is changed because they put me in two classes I hadn't taken the prerequisites for. So glad I went to registrars office today to make sure everything was set before it was too late. But now I'm a week behind in two classes and I have to go exchange books...which they better let me because I cant afford to keep all of this nonsense that probably wont be valid next semester
Hopefully it gets easier.

Good news though...i'm the only alternative person in this college and seemingly the whole town(s) around so that's fun. Everyone up here has probably grown up on a farm and emulates country singers in their styles. I feel like I'm in Iowa again.
It is kind of refreshing to be in a place where everybody doesnt have tattoos and acts somewhat normal. People are nice here.
It's a welcome change from Fayettenam NC
